The inappropriate disposal of waste tires represents a major concern regarding the mitigation of sanitary and environmental impacts from this action. This issue has motivated several studies on possible methods for reusing these elements. In this context, one of the alternatives is the inclusion of rubber particles from waste tires in the construction industry. Thus, this article aimed to list studies and practical applications about the use of recycled rubber from waste tires in various areas of civil construction. This analysis was done through a bibliographic review between Brazilian and international researches, bringing together the main notes on this theme. In this article, applications were listed in the scope of geotechnics, paving, use in concrete and mortar, as well as commercially sold rubber artifacts. The elaboration of this literature review reinforced the employability of recycled rubber from waste tires, showing that there is still space to improve the techniques suggested in this article, as well as to enable other possibilities of using waste rubber in civil construction.
