ANALYSIS OF REVERSE LOGISTICS IN THE BRAZILIAN CONTEXT: A BRIEF REVIEW ON POTENTIALS AND CHALLENGES
Keywords:

With the increase in consumption by society in general and in view of the concern with the environment, the National Solid Waste Policy (PNRS), implemented in 2010, included reverse logistics that through actions and procedures aims at the collection and refund of solid waste to the business sector, for reuse in its cycle, or in other productive cycles or for the environmentally appropriate final destination. This research aims to analyze the reverse logistics in the Brazilian context, through a brief bibliographic review, investigating potentials and challenges faced for the effective implementation of this legal instrument. The waste that is part of reverse logistics, driven by law, are electronic equipment, tires, lamps, batteries, lubricating oils and pesticide packaging, which, when handled improperly, can contaminate the soil, surface and underground water and also compromise human health. However, for reverse logistics to be efficient, the population needs more information and awareness on the topic, as well as salespeople and companies must dialogue and align actions, because through knowledge and commitment, all links in the chain share the same responsibility. Despite the gaps to be filled and attitudes that must be taken for the reverse logistics to actually work, it is essential that there are government incentives and inspection, as well as collection points to dispose of waste, in addition to the dissemination of information about the subject and education for society in general.
