Abstract

This work aimed to evaluate the efficiency of polyester filter elements in a sleeve filter applied in the foundry industry, showing how well-dimensioned equipment can provide efficiency gains, obtaining positive results regarding its application. Laboratory analyzes were performed characterizing the type of particulate and mechanical conditions of polyester sleeves of 550 g / m2. Due to the results obtained and the market research carried out, with four alternatives indicated, it was proposed to change the type of filter element to be used for 600 g / m2 polyester sleeves with microfibers and non-stick treatment, therefore, increasing the weight to increase the retention efficiency, increased sleeve life and overall improvement in the bag filter.
