Abstract

ABSTRACT In the State of Pará, the productive process focused on the production of açaí (Euterpe oleracea, Mart ), was responsible for 51% of the national extractive production, in 2011 and in relation to the North Region for approximately 54% of the regional extractive production, according to data published by the Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics (IBGE, 2013). In the lower Tocantins region, mainly in the municipality of Abaetetuba, the daily consumption of açaí, known as “acai wine”, is common. Aiming at this, there was a need to evaluate, through this research, the productive system of açaí (euterpe oleracea), thus, observing the final destination of the residues (seeds) from the processing of the product. The research was developed with the açaí producers, especially the açaí traders, located in the Francilândia neighborhood in the seat of the municipality of Abaetetuba-PA through qualitative and quantitative research During the work it was observed that there is no collection system of these residues by the municipal government of Abaetetuba, thus being the açaí “beaters” responsible for this disposal and making the final disposal of this residues in an inadequate way and not complying with the current legislation on the final destination. Keywords: Açaí, Processing, Final, disposition.
