Abstract

The objective of this study was to analyze the relationship between socioeconomic factors and the disposal of notebooks, parts and peripherals. For this, a structured questionnaire was developed. The survey followed ethical guidelines and obtained a representative sample of 385 participants, addressing data such as age group, education and income. The results showed that most respondents were aware of harmful substances in Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE), but almost half had never heard of planned obsolescence, especially women. The relationship between income and willingness to pay for collection and recycling was identified, with an increasing trend with increasing income. It is concluded, therefore, that the analysis of the relationships between socioeconomic aspects and user behavior contributes to a more comprehensive and grounded view of the actions necessary to establish more efficient reverse logistics and to promote a cultural change that favors the preservation of the environment and the public health.
